The side face of the accidental encounter has become an unforgettable image of a young man. When he approached most directly, he could see only the constant gap between his detour and the image when he arrived. If the three periods could exist at the same time — the past, the present, and the dream, can they meet each other while overlapping the gaps?
After global culture drives the circulation of audio and video media in various languages, TV channels have the option of multiple channels and subtitles. Because of the smoothness of audio and video, audiences often accept the translation context of the story without thinking. "Paper Fortune Teller" is based on photographic materials with a sense of rupture. I use spatial arrangement as a method to place sounds and texts in the gap between images, and with the delay brought about. It shows that things that seem to be stable are all translated. These translations, not originally in audio-visual works, bring themselves to a human perception experience. When we receive the things, we often accept them with our preferences, but only after the time gap is extended, or even the fragile dialectical memories.
"Paper Fortune Teller" has two-channel videos, three projection surfaces, and an independent sound installation to develop a space that contains continuous and intermittent reading of video, audio, and subtitles, while creating an open text perception. The incomplete but coexisting gap is suitable for all types of prejudice and misidentification.
